Privacy Policy
We keep this short on purpose. Let's Decide collects only what it needs to run the daily question, and nothing more.
1. What we collect
When you create an account, we ask for a name and an email address. When you vote or post a comment, we record your choice, your comment text, and the time. We also keep basic technical information your browser sends with each request — IP address, user agent, and a session cookie — so the site works and so we can spot abuse.
We do not collect financial information. We do not collect location data beyond what your IP address loosely implies.
2. How we use it
- To show you today's question and remember whether you voted.
- To display your comment (after it passes a brief moderation review) alongside everyone else's.
- To send the email-verification message and any account-related notifications you request.
- To rate-limit abuse, detect spam, and keep the site usable for the rest of the community.
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
3. What other services see
We rely on a small set of vendors to operate Let's Decide:
- A hosting provider that runs the application servers and database.
- An email-delivery provider that sends transactional email (verification links, password resets).
These vendors process only the data they need to perform their service, and we use providers that publish their own privacy commitments.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use one session cookie, set by the application, to keep you signed in between page loads. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. We do not use analytics that fingerprint visitors.
5. Your rights
You can update your name or email at any time from the account settings page. You can delete your account from the same page, which permanently removes your votes, comments, and proposals.
If you'd like a copy of the data we have about you, or have a question we haven't covered here, email us — the address is in the footer.
6. Children
Let's Decide is intended for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will remove it.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a material way, we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, post a notice on the home page or send you an email. Continued use of Let's Decide after a change means you accept the updated policy.
